the isdp

What does I.S.D.P. stand for?

  • Individual (on your own)
  • Spiritual (the part of you that isn’t physical)
  • Development (growth)
  • Plan (organized way to get from point A to point Z)

The ISDP is:

  • self-driven.
  • at your own pace.
  • a chance to unlock your leadership potential.
  • fun.
  • guaranteed* to help you grow closer to God
  • a way for you to dive into the purpose of our youth group on your own so you can develop the habits and thought processes of a healthy Christian and follower of Jesus Christ.

We visualize the ISDP as a 400 meter track:

Run, Run!

Each 100 meters corresponds to one of our purposes (stick together, attract, supercharge, elevate, and point) and each 100 meters has 5 hurdles.  The hurdles are like “missions” that you go through to learn about that purpose.  The 5 hurdles go like this:

  • Online Bible Study: These will be done on this here website and will provide a biblical foundation for what you’re studying.  These will be a lot of fun and will help you learn by taking to sites all over the internet.
  • Parent Conversation: You’ll get a talking points guide to discuss your thoughts on the purpose with your parents and also hear theirs.
  • Practical: These are ways to live out the purpose.  These will be the longest hurdle to jump ’cause they’ll take some time with being involved in different groups around the church.
  • Reflection: This is something you write to sum up what you learned.
  • Leadership: This will be a short book you go through to learn about Christian leadership principles.

If you’re good at math you might have realized that the above only accounts for 4 out of the 5 purposes.  The 5th purpose (point) takes place in the center of the field and has its own special requirements:

  • Online Bible Study: Just like above.
  • Spiritual Gift Assessment: This is a survey to find out what gifts God has given to you.
  • Parent Conversation: Take over how to use your gifts with your parents.
  • Ministry Study: Interview the creator/leader of an established ministry that you’re interested in.
  • Ministry Creation: Combining your gifts with your passions and talents you will find something you can do to point other people to God and then lead it!

Whew!  That’s pretty intense.  And it’s supposed to be.  God’s kinda intense.  Created the world and all that.  Anyways, ready to begin?  Follow the links below to find your next hurdle and get going!  Oh wait, you’re going to need a password for everything after the first one.  You’ll find the passwords at the last page of each hurdle so you can move on!
